Stephanie & Jamie
What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
Our favorite memory was walking into the Cloister Clubroom as the band announced the entrance of “Mr. and Mrs. James Riley McNab III”! It was so special to see our closest friends and family cheering us on to the dance floor for our first dance. Not to mention, the room looked fantastic! Our favorite wedding planning memory was the food tasting. We had so much fun with the chef creating our menu and tasting wines, and we were thrilled to be able to create our custom wedding cake with the talented Sea Island baker! It was also special for the ceremony to be held in the Cloister Chapel. We love attending Bill Barrow’s services there when we visit, and we are now grateful to have it such an integral part of this important day in our lives!
How did you hear about Sea Island?
Jamie first visited Sea Island when he was three months old! He grew up vacationing in Sea Island with his family. We also first met each other at a friend’s rehearsal dinner at Ocean Forest – so it was part of our relationship from the beginning! After we started dating, we vacationed together multiple times at Sea Island with our families. This all made it an easy choice when Jamie proposed – we both instantly knew that it would be the perfect spot to celebrate our wedding!
If you grew up coming here, what is your favorite past Sea Island memory?
Jamie has the best memories from visiting every August growing up. He loved ping pong in the Gazebo, fishing off the Cloister dock, golf with his dad, and bingo twice a week! His sisters also both got married in Sea Island, and he loves sharing that connection with his siblings as well.
What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
We wanted everything to be sophisticated, timeless and elegant, so we went with white roses and hydrangeas, areca palms, silver candelabras, and blue & white china. We added touches of coral (which was inspired by my favorite nail polish color) with the bridesmaids’ dresses and bouquets, and even included thistle in the bouquets and boutonnieres to highlight the McNab Scottish heritage.
After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
We were very pleased! Kacee and Danielle made everything easy, especially for a bride living in NYC! We traveled down to Sea Island for a few different wedding planning meetings, and they were always efficient and organized. I trusted them and never worried that it wouldn’t be handled! Throughout the wedding weekend, Kacee and Danielle were helpful to my entire family; we were able to enjoy the weekend and not worry with the minor details. I wish we could do it all over again.
