Ryan & Malloree
What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
Our wedding team set up a few amazing surprises for us. We were supposed to get married and have our reception in outdoor locations, but weather moving through the area meant we had to change plans the night before and move the reception inside. My family has four vintage chandeliers that are really special to us since they’ve been used at previous family weddings, and they were going to be hung from trees outside at our reception. I was disappointed when I thought the chandeliers wouldn’t be a part of our day since there was no talk of a plan B to put them anywhere if locations changed, but one of them was hanging right above the aisle during our ceremony (all dressed up in greenery, no less!) and I saw that the other three were placed above the head table when we walked into our reception ballroom. It was so touching and meant so much to me that they went out of their way to incorporate the family heirlooms into the day. – Malloree
My favorite memory from my Sea Island wedding was the first look at my bride and the first look at our wedding venue locations the day of. Since we had a change of plans due to weather, I wasn’t sure what to expect and the wedding team really outdid themselves! — Ryan
How did you hear about Sea Island?
I’ve been coming to Sea Island with my family every summer my entire life. My mom came across a magazine article back in the 80’s that featured Sea Island and it’s been a mainstay in our family ever since my parents’ first visit. It’s one of my favorite places in the world so after Ryan proposed, it was the first and only wedding venue that came to mind. – Malloree
If you grew up coming here, what is your favorite past Sea Island memory?
I insisted that my parents keep taking me on the sea turtle education walk every single summer even after I knew the entire presentation word for word. It paid off in the best way when I got to watch hatchlings make their way to the ocean during one of the night walks. My summers on Sea Island are a big reason why I’m a marine biologist today. – Malloree
What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
We knew we would get married outside so we wanted greenery and natural elements to be the focus, and then built around the gold and rose gold colors in my wedding dress while adding in unique textures like pampas grass for a mix of modern and rustic. – Malloree
After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
I was extremely pleased with the details of our wedding. The only bad part about the day was how quickly it went by when we wanted it to last forever, so see if you guys can do something about that! Overall it was a perfect experience. I think everyone on the wedding planning team anticipated our needs before we thought of them so we could just enjoy our day! – Ryan
My experience with the Sea Island Wedding and Event Design Team was everything any bride could ever want. I was blown away by the ceremony and reception design, and I really felt like they listened to our vision for the day and expertly brought it to life. They made sure every little detail was taken care of, which was no easy feat considering both the ceremony and reception locations completely changed the day before! Our wedding team somehow made plan B feel just as perfect as our original plan. – Malloree
