Laurin & Claire
What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
During the wedding ceremony, our officiant asked us to take a second to look out at all the people in the room with us. It was the most beautiful moment knowing that from the very start of our marriage, we were surrounded by love and support. A similar moment happened again at the end of the night. The last song played at our reception was ‘Proud Mary’ (a favorite hailing the Bride’s hometown of Memphis, TN)…we hopped up on stage to dance with the band, and again looked out at all of our family and friends there celebrating with us, loving us, and lifting us up. That view and feeling of overwhelming joy is one of our most cherished memories.
How did you hear about Sea Island?
Claire and her family have been vacationing at Sea Island since she was a child.
If you grew up coming here, what is your favorite past Sea Island memory?
BINGO! I just can’t decide if it is more fun to play now as an adult, or in my memories of playing as a child!
What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
We wanted the ceremony to feel traditional with lots of white florals, greenery, and lighting. The Sea Island Wedding and Event Design Team completely transformed the massive indoor ballroom to feel intimate, organic, and completely romantic. For the reception, we wanted our guests to feel like they had entered an entirely new world and arrived at a lush and glamorous party. From the black dance floor, to the gold pendant lights, and emerald bar with matching sofas, it was absolute perfection.
After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
I can honestly say, we have never had more fun than the year of planning our wedding. The Sea Island Wedding and Event Design Team made the entire process easy and such a joy! Everyone we worked with was so creative, engaging, and eager to deliver exactly what our vision was. They walked us through every decision, kept us organized and on track with the timeline, and were ready to answer every one of our questions. Their attention to detail was remarkable and made the execution of our day seamless. We could not have had a better experience and wish every day we could wake up and do it all over again!
