The Cloister North Patio
A beautiful, comfortable outdoor space immediately adjacent to The Cloister Main Building, down the corridor and across from The Cloister Ballroom. Often used for private events, feel free to wander out and take in the large palms, lush greenery, and fountain.
The Cloister Oglethorpe Room
With wooden beamed ceilings and iron chandeliers, Oglethorpe is a warm and intimate space down the north corridor off the Colonial Lounge, past Tavola, the last room on your right.
The Cloister Solarium
This room knows how to rise and shine. Fresh coffee, newspaper, and dappled sunlight that makes you want to grab a seat and settle in. A favorite room of many guests, it’s the best place to start a Sea Island day, and pop into for afternoon refreshments. Complete with love birds. Follow either south corridor off the Colonial Lounge to the end and you can’t miss it.
The Cloister Summit Room
While not the original Summit meeting space, it is an exceptional one, with the very 15’-diameter heart pine table and chairs used during the G8 Summit of world leaders which Sea Island hosted in 2004. Take a right down the North corridor off the Colonial Lounge, past Tavola, to the end. It’s the second to last room on your right.
The Lodge Lobby
The perfect spot to meet up for a drink and a laugh before dinner, after a round on the Speedway Putting Course, or on your way to watch the bagpiper at sunset. The setting is warm and distinctive, yet inviting and comfortable. The Lodge Lobby is a welcoming crossroads between rooms, restaurants, lovely veranda, and golf.
Retreat Terrace
A bright ballroom with panoramic views of the Retreat golf course and access to the back patio and lawn, Retreat is a spacious and flexible venue used for weddings and other functions and events.

Like a breath of fresh air on your way from the Garden and South Wings to the Main Building, or just a beautiful spot to get away from it all.
Spanish Lounge
An impeccable re-creation from the original Cloister built in 1928, this beautiful room is used for everything from fireside chats to impromptu bridge tournaments as well as private events. But you may find yourself wandering in to steal a moment to yourself and take in the incredible artworks, original vaulted ceiling, chandeliers, and stained glass windows. Take a left from the Colonial Lounge then left before you reach the Solarium. Follow the hall to the end.
St. Catherines
Adjacent to The Cloister Wine Cellar, with paneled walls and the flexibility to accommodate up to 24 guests.
Black Banks Parlor
A cozy, inviting room on the second floor of The Cloister, with a balcony overlooking the Black Banks River, available for private meetings and functions. After taking a right at the top of the grand staircase, the Black Banks Parlor will be on your left
The Cloister Wine Cellar
Tucked down a stairwell on the left off the rear/dockside hall in The Cloister, just before the River Bar (heading towards the Solarium), is a unique and enchanting setting, with an 1800s heart pine wooden ceiling, a handmade English oak estate table, and of course, an impressive award-winning wine collection. Book for a private occasion or watch for holiday and special events here.
Black Banks Terrace
You can’t miss this beautiful outdoor space. Exit The Cloister lobby on the river side, walk down towards the dock, and turn around and look back towards the hotel. The terrace at the top of the winding staircases with excellent views of Black Banks River and the marsh is often used for weddings and private events. And makes a great spot to catch an incredible Sea Island sunset.
Summit Park
In this stately park area across the Black Banks River and bridge, the flags of nations proudly commemorate Sea Island being chosen to host the historical 2004 G8 Summit of world leaders. Join us for a patriotic medley of songs on 4th of July weekend or simply take a quiet stroll, wandering to the presidential oaks planted nearby.

The Cloister Ballroom
Take a right from the Colonial Lounge and at the end of the riverside corridor past Tavola, the shops, and a series of smaller meeting rooms, tucked around the corner to your right you’ll find our largest interior space, often used for large parties and holiday events. Admire the decorative wood ceiling, upholstered movable walls, and gorgeous chandeliers.

Candy-lined walls. Sundaes, splits, and malts. And of course, the Sea Island signature Gold Brick Sundae. Part ice cream parlor, part candy haven, you can also get your breakfast fix: coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and smoothies.

Mizner Ballroom
Tucked around in its own corner of the ballroom section of The Cloister, the Mizner Ballroom is a flexible space used for weddings, meetings, and events, adjacent to the private Mizner Courtyard and near the Ballroom Porte-Cochere entrance.
The Stables at Frederica
Top equestrian experience under majestic live oaks. Ring rides and stable tours for kids, lessons available in hunter, jumper, equitation, saddleseat, dressage, and western disciplines (private, semi-private, and group) as well as private trail rides through maritime forests. Located less than a 15-minute drive from The Cloister, down Sea Island Road to a right on Frederica Road.
The Cloister Chapel
Tucked into a fairytale setting under the live oaks in The Cloister Garden between the Main Building and Garden Wings, The Cloister Chapel is beautifully simple and charming, with traditional heart pine pews, beautiful stained glass windows, and chaplain on staff. Come for ecumenical Sunday services or pop in on your way through the garden.
Retreat Tennis and Pickleball Center
Features multiple tennis and pickleball courts as well as court, racquet, and ball machine rentals. Less than a 15-minute drive from The Cloister (down Sea Island Drive to Kings Way), and five minutes from The Lodge (left off Retreat Ave to Kings Way).
The Cloister Colonial Lounge
The Cloister Main Building’s lobby is beautiful, awe-inspiring, and grand. But it’s also a hub of activity, often the starting point for wherever your day will take you or simply a pause to savor a quiet moment. From check-in to check-out, live music to holiday receptions, waiting for friends and family to watching people go by, The Cloister Colonial Lounge is somehow full of life and quiet, all at the same time. A stopping point. Or your destination.
Shooting School
5-Stand sporting clay field, two skeet ranges, and trap field at one of the nation’s best facilities. You’ll also find the Shooting School Shop with logoed shirts, caps, and a variety of cool weather apparel. Located minutes from The Cloister, across the bridge and down Sea Island Drive on the right.
Golf Performance Center
State-of-the-art 17,000 square-foot golf instruction and training facility at The Lodge, with world-renowned golf instructors, six hitting bays, and cutting-edge technology.

Coastal Experience Center
Some of the finest fishing on the east coast starts right here. Fishing trips, private salt marsh nature and dolphin tour, hands-on fish dissection and dock fishing, the Coastal Experience Center is also the launching point for the Sea Island Explorer. Exit The Cloister Main Building from the river side, go down the stairs towards the dock, and take a left down the path. Your coastal adventure awaits.

From launching pad of fishing adventures to cruising our golden marshes: an unforgettable pre-dinner or private cruise aboard our 71-foot yacht, the Sea Island Explorer, or fishing aboard the 39-foot Contender. Exit the Colonial Lounge toward the river and straight ahead to the dock.
Cloister South Wing
With views of Black Banks River and the marsh, rooms here are close to the Main Building and the Cloister Garden.

Camp Cloister
A fun-filled day of experiences around the resort for children ages 5–14 (children ages 3–4 are welcome from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.). A Sea Island summer favorite. The home base for this full slate of summer fun is at Sea Island Kids, located in the Beach Club, a short walk up the lush walkway from The Cloister.
The Market
Coffee and breakfast, made-to-order sandwiches, grab-and-go-salads, as well as Take-‘n’-Bake entrées for dinner to go. A local shop, with everything from fresh baked goods to special gifts to fine wine. A short drive from the resort down Sea Island Drive on St Simons Island.
Speedway Putting Course
A fun 18-hole putting course that combines traditions and fun of golf.
Designed by Mark Love and Davis Love III and located right off the steps of The Lodge’s beautiful back veranda, it’s the perfect activity to enjoy with family and friends. Open year-round.
Broadfield
Located off of the main Sea Island property less than an hour drive south near Woodbine is Broadfield, A Sea Island Sporting Club and Lodge. Reserved as a compound for idyllic secluded getaways for up to 18 people, its natural setting make it perfect for hunting, shooting, falconry, and fishing, as well as farm-to-table meals from Broadfield’s own chef.
Sea Strike & Pub
Beautiful bar, punch-bowl cocktails, creative gastropub-style menu, and a lot of fun in a warm atmosphere. A favorite Sea Island activity, enjoy a few strings of bowling catch the big game, or just settle into a comfy couch with a snack. Located right at the entrance of the Beach Club, straight up the lush walkway from The Cloister.
Sea Island Nature Center
Before you patrol for sea turtles at dawn, discover what makes the Georgia coast unique, learn about the many ecosystems and wildlife, and get hands-on with our touch tank. Your starting point for most nature activities, located adjacent to the Beach Club Adult Pool.
Fitness Center
Located at Sea Island’s Forbes Five-Star Spa, a short walk straight down the lush path from The Cloister main entrance (on your way to the Beach Club). Join us for a fitness class, personal training session, or a workout with state-of-the-art equipment in yoga, Pilates, strength, cycle, and cardio studios. Also features indoor heated lap pool, squash courts, steam and sauna, whirlpool, and cryotherapy.

Located behind the Sea Island Kids shop at the Beach Club.
Beach Club
The heart of fun in the sun at The Cloister, a short walk from the Main Building. Head out of the main entrance straight ahead and follow the lush path to discover three swimming pools, a waterslide, and splash pad. Poolside dining, our Snack Shack, Wonderland sweet shop, and delicious oceanfront seafood at Southern Tide. Home of two Sea Island shops, Sea Strike & Pub bowling alley, the Nature Center, Camp Cloister, bicycle rentals, and five miles of private beach along the Atlantic Ocean.
Southern Tide
Thanks to stunning al fresco dining, Southern Tide opens up to the most beautiful thing we have to offer—the ocean. It’s oceanfront dining and fresh seafood make it a Sea Island beloved favorite. Perfect for a family catch-up, romantic night out, or simply an incredible culinary experience. Go down the hall on your left as you enter the Beach Club, mid-way down on your right.
Retreat Course
An additional 300 yards of length and wider fairways give Retreat an open feeling with a lower profile.
Plantation Golf Course
A historic course that was re-designed to bring back some traditional features and character. Along with the neighboring Seaside Course, it is the home of the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic, a FedEx cup event hosted by Davis Love. Located at the Sea Island Golf Club on Retreat Avenue.
Seaside Golf Course
Enjoy the beauty and tradition of legendary Scottish Links. A beautiful ocean-side course with sweeping dunes mixed with native grasses and wildflowers. A challenging and fun course, where you’re often at the mercy of the wind. Located at the Sea Island Golf Club on Retreat Avenue.
The Spa at Sea Island
Our Forbes Five-Star spa features a water-inspired wellness journey complete with a variety of massage services, body treatments, and experiences including hydrotherapy, cold plunges, and hot pools. Also enjoy the services of our Salon with hair, makeup, manicures, and pedicures, as well as a Fitness Center with state-of-the-art weight and cardio equipment, studios, shop, and indoor lap pool. Take a left off the walkway that leads from The Cloister to the Beach Club.
Oak Room
Located in The Lodge, here you’ll find a broad range of southern favorites and signature dishes, imaginative cocktails and fine single-malt Scotch. The perfect place to unwind and take it all in.
Colt & Alison
Warm charming steakhouse serving the finest cuts. And with tableside crowd-pleasers like Caesar Salad and flaming Bananas Foster, it’s an interactive experience as well as a mouth-watering one.
Tavola
An authentic Italian experience with Southern charm, where delicious family-style meals are enjoyed around a lively table. Homemade ravioli, fresh seafood, salads, pizza fresh from the Mugnaini wood oven, a well-stocked bar with wines from all 20 Italian wine regions, and classic cocktails reinvented to reflect the country. From the river side of the Colonial Lounge in The Cloister, take a right down the corridor and Tavola is on your left.
King Cottage
The Lodge’s largest golf cottage featuring 4,200 square feet that overlook the Atlantic, four bedrooms, and its own hitting bay on the driving range.
