About The Chapel

The Cloister Chapel is dedicated to the glory of God and in memory of Kit and Bill Jones, grandparents of Bill Jones III. The Chapel was designed by Sea Island architect Peter Capone, designer of The Cloister and other Sea Island facilities.

The stained glass windows were given by Betty Jones in honor of her husband, Bill Jones, Jr. The large wooden cross in the front of the chapel was crafted and given by Dr. Carl Dohn from the same wood Dr. Dohn used to create the conference table used by world leaders during the 2004 G8 Summit held at Sea Island.
